Working together for better pony welfare in the Netherlands

To ensure that optimal care is being given to all polo ponies, each polo club has appointed welfare stewards. The task of a steward is to observe and report any issues concerning pony welfare to the polo manager of their respective polo clubs. In turn, the manager will assess the situation and contact the owner to discuss options and solutions for improvement. If the situation cannot be resolved, the polo manager can revert to the the clubs' Committee. If this fails, the Committee can refer to the Pony Welfare Committee and the SPN.
